GLOBALFOUNDRIES Raises a Ton of Food for Saratoga County Food Pantries

GLOBALFOUNDRIES set a goal to raise one ton – or 2,000 pounds – of food to donate to the Saratoga County Food Pantries for the holiday season. Not only did the company achieve this goal, but raised an additional 1,600 pounds, for a total of 3,630 pounds of food! That’s enough food to feed 360 families over the month of December.

On Friday, December 2nd, the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council picked up the almost two tons of food. As a new company with new operations in the region, GLOBALFOUNDRIES has created 1,000 new jobs and quickly ramping the new Fab 8 facility.

The food donated by GLOBALFOUNDRIES employees was donated to the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, helps people to help themselves, empowering and guiding families through times of crisis and uncertainty and providing a safety net for people who will always require assistance. Since 1973, the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council has helped thousands of local families by addressing their immediate most basic needs, having made a difference in thousands of lives.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES is continuing the holiday spirit by collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. Check back in a few weeks to find out how many toys were donated!
